Nahada Tech Kickstarts Tech Bootcamp in Damascus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Damascus, Syria – May 4, 2025 — Acknowledging the growing need for accessible technology training and job opportunities throughout Syria, Nahda Tech will be conducting its first 2-day Bootcamp in Damascus from May 10-11. This event aims to facilitate regional cooperation and uncover local talents.

Intended for individuals looking to enhance their developer skills and those transitioning careers, the Nahda Tech Bootcamp offers practical training, guidance from mentors, and introductions to companies committed to recruiting participants throughout the program. The boot camp seeks to tackle the technology skill shortage in Syria and highlight the unutilized capabilities of Syrian professionals to businesses across the region.

Our objective is to equip young Syrians with practical skills and link them to significant job opportunities," stated Nour Halabi, co-founder of Nahda Tech. "Through engaging employers from the Gulf region and throughout the Arab world, our goal is to establish Syria as a competitive and affordable center for remote and outsourced technical expertise.

The initiative outlines specific goals:

Increase awareness throughout the Gulf and MENA regions regarding Syria’s developing technology sector. Promote the consideration of Syrian talent by local businesses for remote and freelance positions. Showcase success tales from the boot camp to foster trust and involvement. Provide travel grants and lodging assistance for participants coming from more distant provinces to enhance their ability to gain knowledge and form collaborations within Syria. Obtain media attention to expand the outreach of this initiative.

Aimed at entry-level developers between 18 and 35 years old, those looking to change careers, and local technology recruitment professionals Nahda Tech employs a targeted media approach encompassing press interviews, contributions of op-eds in Arabic-language magazines, collaborations with influencers, and forthcoming online events.

In addition to the May bootcamp, a larger The Networking and Recruitment Event is set for September. Gathering alumni, companies, and community backers to enhance cooperation and employment opportunities.

Nahda Tech appreciates the backing from local media outlets, business executives, and technology companies to amplify the reach of this potential-driven community initiative.
