RIO DE JANEIRO (Wiseova) – The Brazilian environmental authority Ibama announced on Monday that it has endorsed the outline of an emergency strategy submitted by state-owned petroleum company Petrobras. This plan aims to support indigenous wildlife in the event of an oil leak within the Foz do Amazonas region.
Ibama stated that this approval is among the necessary measures for the firm to secure ultimate authorization for drilling operations within the ecologically fragile area. Furthermore, they mentioned that the company will conduct various tests and simulations to validate the efficacy of Petrobras' proposed strategy.
